New hi-tech centre opens at Aintree Hospital to help beat superbugs like MRSA and C dificile

The new facility means less pressure for staff, and quicker admittance for patients waiting to get onto the ward.

The equipment that can be cleaned ranges from beds to wheelchairs and fans, as well as specialist medical equipment.

The hospital has recently seen a fall in cases in cases of C diff, after a period of growth during the last year.

Between April and June this year, the hospital recorded 81 cases compared to 147 the previous quarter.

Its annual rate is one of the highest in the country.
