SHIPWRECKED star Daniel Latimer has been cleared of supplying date rape drugs in a Hull nightclub.

The 24-year-old was appearing as a guest DJ at the Sugar Mill last September when he collapsed and nearly died after his friend spiked his drink with date rape drug GHB.

He was charged with supplying the drug after telling a police officer he had been given some by a man in a service station.

But the officer only wrote down the conversation afterwards and a judge at Hull Crown Court has ruled the note the officer made is “unreliable”.

The Crown Prosecution Service has now offered no evidence in the case.

Mr Latimer had been in intensive care and a coma following his collapse.

It happened just a couple of hours before 21-year-old student Chloe Leach, who later died, also collapsed in the same club.

His former friend Kristopher Ian Mochrie is due to be sentenced after pleading guilty to of supplying class C drugs and perverting the course of justice.
