THREE people have been arrested in connection with a campaign waged against two Sefton businessmen.
Property developer Terry Riley, the 40- year-old founder and chairman of the Crosby-based Ascot Group, twice had his house shot at.
And his family and businesses have been targeted by arsonists since the turn of the year.
It is thought his closest family have now left the country fearful for their safety.
Close associate John Ball has also been targeted.
At around 9.30pm on Monday (May 18) police raided an address in Nunsford Close, Netherton, after a tip-off from the public.
Detectives were questioning the three suspects as the Maghull and Aintree Star went to press..
A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson and possession of controlled drugs, a 32- year-old man on conspiracy to commit arson and money laundering and a 36-year- old woman on suspicion of possession of controlled drugs and money laundering.
