Preston Crown Court
A 47-YEAR-OLD man has been convicted of a series of sex offences dating back to the 1970s.
Peter Dickenson, a man with no previous convictions, had told a Preston Crown Court jury that the alleged incidents never happened.
But he was convicted by majority verdicts on six counts of indecent assault, and three of indecency with a child.
He was cleared of four similar allegations.
The jury had been told that the offences were committed on different dates between 1973 and 1981 in Burscough and Ormskirk and the victim was aged between three and 11 at the time.
When he was arrested, Dickenson denied the allegations.
The Judge asked for background reports, and Dickenson, who lives at Croft Field, Maghull, will be sentenced next month.
